Hello. I have two Sony ECM 77B microphones with the 4-pin Hirose connectors that were used with a Sony wireless transmitter.
I am now using a Saramonic UWmic 9 wireless system and I would like to try using the Sony mics with it. Problem…Saramonic mics use the locking 3.5mm plug.
Does anyone know first of all, if the Sony lav mic is at all compatible with the Saramonic Transmitter and 2nd, how would I wire a 3.5mm plug to the Sony mic.
    Thanks for any suggestions.

Hi…Anyone using the PC control software? The rack mount receiver has an Ethernet port for connecting to a Sony application via Windows. Because the controls are done via 2.4Ghz Zigbee mesh network, does that mean all receivers have to be rackmount units if you want contol, or can you just have 1 rack unit and mix with ENG compact receivers and still be able to monitor and control all transmitters via the application?

Hello Dan and welcome to the Cow Audio Forum.

I don’t know the pin outs but I’m pretty sure you can. You just need the right connector soldered on or a converter link cable. Eric Toline made some up for me but I don’t think he’s doing that now. He might be able to help you with the pin out assignments. Failing that, I ‘d reach out to Saramonic support to find that information.

Thanks for your information Ty. I have tried reaching out to Saramonic but they have not replied, not yet anyway and it has been over a week.
I would like to try contacting Eric Toline but I don’t have any contact info for him. It sounds like he may be able to help with the pin out. If I can get that info I’m sure I can go from there.

    Eric says…

Open Hirose, look for red or blue wire.

Ground is and black or braided.

The other will be white or red that goes to the tip.

    Nothing on the ring.

    Regards,

    Ty

Hello. You helped with a question I had a few years ago…thank you.

    A new question now.

I’d like to convert an ECM 77 that was a 4 pin Hirose, for use with a Sony UTX-B2 transmitter that uses a locking 3.5 plug. The photo shows

1 Red, 1 Copper in Clear cover, 1 Copper..no cover, and lastly the shield. Sony plug wiring is very specific, do you have any knowledge?

    Thanks DMW
