I am trying to burn a disc in Pro 1.5. Architect. At about the 2 minute mark

    I get this massage

“Warning Am error occurred while writhing a file.
The file could not be created.”

Note it states “a” file and not this file.
I have been using this same program for
a long time. I am doing everything just as I have always done.
I could use some help. Would be grateful for any suggestions.

    Thanks
    Don

Wow that’s really old software. The current version is 6.0. Are you using an OS that was supported by 1.5? Do you have enough temp space on your C: drive to create the disc?

John I am using Dell windows 7 home premium computer. It’s about a year old. I have split C into two drives.
C drive has 925 GB on it. On C drive I have used 93.3 GB. I have free 832 GB.
On K drive I have 925 GB I have used 194 GB. I have 741 GB free. I am not press for space as you can see.
I use C drive for my programs. K drive I use to do my work on, such as Vegas Pro 8.
I know my equipment is old and outdated, but it does what I want it to do, so I figured why upgrade. Are you telling me that I should upgrade? If so that’s OK I have just not seen the need. Until now, I have thought about it at times. If I decided to do so where would be the best place to get my upgrade from?
For the most part I do slideshows; on occasion I will do a video.
John I do thank you for taking the time for helping me. It’s not often that we old men can fine sights like this. Thanks.

Well, I was just pointing out that if you’re not using a supported OS that this could contribute to the problem because disc burning is a low level task but if it’s worked before and you have plenty of free space that might not be the problem. One way around the problem would be to burn a disk image (iso file) and create your actual disc with another program like BurnAware free.

Does this happen when you prepare the disc? or burn the disc? If it happens when you burn it you can always prepare the disc only and burn it with another program. If it happens when you prepare the disc then try creating a new project with a small piece of different media and see if it’s something about this one project or if all projects have this problem.

Also make sure that you are using the latest build. I’m not aware of there ever being a 1.5 version of DVD Architect so I’m not sure what you are using. DVD Architect 1.0d was updated on Feb. 22, 2004. There is no 1.5.

Only if you’re not happy with that workaround. Otherwise, I always create a .iso file first and archive it and then burn my DVD’s from the ISO. Then when I need another copy, I just pull the ISO from my archive hard drive and burn another. So it’s not a bad workflow to use.
