A client is giving me material recorded on a Sony consumer hard disk camera. It’s muxed mpeg, 720×404, 1.1mbps, 25fps, sq pixel. What’s the best FCP sequence preset to use to edit it in? (We’ll want to make a DVD at the end). When I make a seq preset to match, the clip is unrendered. There’s no audio on the test clip; does muxing cause this?

Thanks… at least it’s “only” about 12 hours of pea-shot footage!

    I know, I know – but it’s a long-term client travelling the world… I couldn’t persuade them… mpeg Streamclip is super! Thanks.

[Dave LaRonde] “The guy went out of business six months later.”

But, only after trying to bring down the others around him…

This kind of thing always reminds me of the Red Cross lifeguard training I took as a kid. The very first lesson they teach you is that, a victim who is drowning will do anything they can to stay afloat and save themselves. That almost always includes drowning the lifeguard coming to their rescue. Saddly, we as human beings are hard-wired in this way.
