I’m trying to achieve a soft edge on a cropped image. Unfortunately, the border effect wants to border the entire image, (which can still be seen in the ‘Event Pan/Crop’ window) so the soft edge effect is only happening from the left and right, but no top and bottom. (Because the top and bottom of the image have been cropped out) Is there any way for the border effect to recognize a new cropped position and give the effect in the new position? I just can’t figure out how to accomplish this. Any suggestions?

This is where the Pre/Post toggle switch comes into play.
In the Border FX, look at the word Border beside the timeline (in the bottom left of this window).
Beside the word Border, you’ll see a small arrow (Pre-Post Toggle) pointing to the right (Pre Toggle behaviour).
Click it so that it’s pointing to the left and the border will now be around the cropped image (Post Toggle behaviour).
