Sony AVC render crashes vegas, all other codecs work fine

I don’t know 64bit vista, but have you tried the newer Vegas Pro 8.1 which is designed for 64bit Vista?

As you have the Pro 8, what is the Pixel Format in your Project Properties?
If your input source is AVC as well, you might want to recode that to an intermediate formate, like CineForm.

This is merely speculation on my part, but so far I see decreased stability when the Pixel Format is set to 32-bit, especially on HD material. Also when the input format is AVC.

That worked for me. It was driving me crazy. When I chose 8 bit it worked fine. Thanks for posting, since I would have never thought about it.. Cheers, E.F.

I have the same problem except that I can’t publish in any format.

Was there a solution for those of us with Vegas 9 (besides buying Vegas 8)?

Version 10 is even worse than version 9, I have spent nearly 1 month with sony support and they can’t address any of the problems, I have clips that lose Audio but retain video, others that retain video lose the audio, video w/o audio sync, INstallation problems and now I can’t even re-install version 9 which had more success with then 10!!

Error 1: “The procedure entry point ?GetISBurnBDVideocompilation@@TGJPAPAUISfBurncompilation@@@Z could not be located in teh dynamic link library sfcdix.dll.”

Error 2: Version 10 reports errounouse space useage when burning the final project, when the project exceeds 4.7 gigs, on some occassions reports the correct compression ratio and that the project can be completed as proposed than runs 1-2 hours (on a i7) then bombs out.

Error 3: Lost audio, and or lost video, sony request upload of small file, will send today.

This is only the TIP of the iceberg, I would wait a good long time before getting version 10 and expecting better results, version 8 may have been the best version of the lot.

I’m currently having the same problem, encoding from 1920x1080p AVI to Sony AVC Blu Ray settings. Project just disappears after a minute.

I must say, as I have mucho color fx, that changing to 8-bit from 32-bit floating JUST to get the render out, is not an acceptable option…
