Sony Avc or Mainconcept Avc?
I’ve been using Sony Vegas for a while,and a found out that Sony Avc render 2x faster than the Mainconcept Avc,which is strange,aren’t they the same codec?
I’ve got a GTX660 and i use my graphics card to render my videos,but it doesn’t seems to speed up the rendering time at all.
And the quality of the videos render using mainconcept avc is way more better than the videos render using sony Avc.
But it get’s pixelated when there is a transition Fx (Fade out/Fade in) using mainconcept avc.
So which codec should i use?

While both Sony AVC and MainConcept AVC are rendering the same AVC/H.264 format, they are better at certain things. I would use Sony AVC for high bit-rate Blu-ray and AVCHD delivery and the MainConcept AVC for low bit-rate Internet delivery. I find that MainConcept AVC is faster at GPU rendering. If you are seeing pixelation on transitions, try using Two Pass which will use more bits where they are needed the most (like a transition).
