Sony AVC encode file size?
Hi there,
I’m using sony movie studio platinum 12 and I’m encoding alot of uncompressed fraps footage. People say sony AVC is the best for doing this and I’ve been messing around with the bit rate settings and I can’t seem to find the connection between bit rate and file size.
I have two videos one here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U3nBK_4x1gY
20 minutes in length with a Average bitrate of 2500kbs and a max of 4000 kbs and this generates a 700 mb file from two file,a 6gb+24gb uncompressed file.
I have a second part sitting here same game, Average bitrate of 2300kpbs and a max of 4000 kbs with a file size of 500 for 20 minutes. I’ll upload later on, right now it’s a bit late.
Could somebody explain to me why this happens. If it helps, here are the settings I used last. I highlighted some of the options I don’t quite understand.
https://imgur.com/xt0WOIn regards to the variable bit rate, file size between two videos with the same average should be the same right? No matter what the highest rate is. I doubt the 200kbs would have made such a dent on my second video’s file size.
