After the switch to Vegas Pro 11, the Sony AVC render option is no longer there. I have tried to uninstall and reinstall and it appears that there are two “Sony” render types that are no longer present compared with Pro 10. Any thoughts as to what to do to fix this? Thanks.

If I have Vegas Pro 10 installed along with 11, then all is well. If I uninstall 10 then Sony AVC render option disappears. If I then uninstall 11 and reinstall 11, it does not come back.

This problem has been reported by several users on various Vegas forums so it’s obviously a bug that will hopefully be addressed very soon.

I’ve seen the Sony AVC CODEC vanish once or twice, without installing or re-installing anything. It just didn’t show up. There’s some random bug in the new file dialog.

I found that re-starting Vegas solved my problem. And honestly, I still have Vegas 9 installed, and find no possible reason to un-install Vegas 10 at this point in time. Not that it should matter…

You have “Match Project settings” checked. Uncheck this, and there is the Sony SVC coded. Then you can create your custom template …

Why not use the MainConcept AVC codec ?
