    Hello,

Sorry for my english, I normally speak french.

My studio have just bought the new Sonnet Echo Express III Tb2.
We installed 2 cards recommended (Sonnet Tempo Sata 6Gb 4 port, Sonnet Allegro FW800)

These 2 cards appeared in the hardware list and worked. Yesterday I installed a Highpoint 2722 card to generate a RAID system. I launched the creation of a new RAID array. It’s said it will take 13 hours to create. After about 12 hours, it stopped. I relaunched the computer and now 3 cards doesn’t appear in the hardware list. The computer (New MacPro 2014), reconize the Echo Express connected to one thunderbolt… but no PCI cards anymore except my two graphic cards…

I waited 2 hours and relaunched the computer, and then miraculous… 3 cards where connected. To be sure I restarted the computer… and no card again.

I don’t know if the problem comes from Sonnet, Mavericks or the new MacPro. Anyone has an idea ?

    Robin –

Sorry for the late reply. I had a similar problem installing the same 2 cards in an Echo Express II connected to an iMac.

A closer inspection of Sonnet’s site revealed that the Allegro series cards are meant for older Macs (G3,G4,G5) and behave very irratically or not at all in the newer Macs, iMacs. The Tempo SATA card has performed without incident in the Echo Express II.

I tried selling the Allegro card on ebay and couldn’t give it away.

    Hi,

I have now for three months the Sonnet Tango 3.0 cards in Sonnet Echo III-R
and Sonnet Echo II enclosures without any issues. These are fantastic cards
with Apple native USB 3 and Firewire 800 support!
And the enclosures and the cards works wonderfully
over Thunderbolt 20m or Thunderbolt 30m optical cables
    without any issues!

You must install Sonnet Tango 3.0 cards in these enclosures.

I have tested also Sonnet Allegro USB 3.0 cards but they are very problematic
with beta drivers, no Maverick support and they can crash your MAC especially
with Asix USB 3.0 Ethernet based adapters like STLab USB 3.0 Docking station
or Sonnet Presto USB 3.0 adapters. But these adapters work wonderfully
    with Sonnet Tango 3.0 cards!

And Sonnet Allegro USB 3.0 cards are not native supported by Apple.

    Best regards,

    Gorazd.
