maybe it is not strange, maybe i do sth in a wrong way?

here we go: i render a standard pal or hd mpg2 file with mpg extension. I play it with Media pLayer Classic home cinema x64 – everything is ok.
when i play it with media player classic as well as in power dvd video jams for a second every 10-20 seconds, it is like a hiccup, it stops for a moment, jumps over few frames and goes on. when i export this file to youtube it plays ok. when i make a dvd from the file the dvd plays ok. this happens in all configurations pal or hd. i enclose here hd configuration for my “master” file.
so far it looks like strange players behaviour rather, but why two different players have hiccups in the same moments in the file?
    .
i ve made an interesting discovery. i demultiplex this file with tmpgenc and multiplex it back. and you know what? after that operation the file plays ok in all players and it is about 10 % smaller then before the operation.
after the operation MPC also reports the file is shorter – the file we are talking about before/after – size and running times by Media pLayer Classic
    before de-multiplexing 2557128 / 37:24
    after 2382059 / 36:40
MPC home cinema x64 reports both files running time as 36:39 no matter they have different sizes
GSPOT reports some differences, check it out for yourselves.
    .
what do you say for that? anybody? please.
does demultiplexing corrects some settings which i have set wrong, or it corrects sth that SVP does wrong?

by the way – it is SVP 11.

    regards
    paul

I’ve experienced exact problem 2 years ago when I used Womble MPEG Wizard for editing my mpeg2 sources.
Unfortunately, I haven’t found a solution then and that program didn’t allow me to play with so many encoder options.
I know that later they’ve moved to Mainconcept codec and the problem was fixed.
Not for me, because they wanted money for upgrade which was just bug-fix in my case.

I’ve also found that re-multiplexing fixed the problem so I’ve done it with all my resulting videos.

In Vegas you can try to change many different encoder’s options.
Unfortunately, I can’t point on exact option that causes the problem, but for start I would change “Insert sequence header before every GOP”, “Use closed COPs” and “Write sequence end code” encoder options after reading about them.
