Son of: Slow down animated .gif
Hi,
I asked a similar question before, but got no answer. In Vegas, I added an “animated .gif.” This when placed on the timeline was only 1 frame in length ( ! ). I stretched it to 4 seconds, and it played OK in the Vegas Preview, animation and all. When I converted it into a DVD using DVDA, the .gif played 4 seconds long, but as a “still,” (Not animated.)
Since then I looked carefully at the resulting DVD.
The .gif shows some “vibration” on a 33″ TV screen; therefore I suspect it does “animate,” but over and over again in the stretched 4 seconds.
So: the question is: How to drastically “slow down” the gif (presumably in Vegas) after it’s stretched, so that the movement would be natural, as-seen in the Vegas preview.

You can add a velocity envelope and slow it down to as much as 0% (stopped).

I just downloaded an animated GIF of a flying dove and imorted it into Veg6. When I placed it on the timeline it showed up as 5 frames. I then zoomed in, ‘cntrl/dragged the right side to the maximum which was 20 frames. I then extended the clip to 60 frames. It played back perfectly in the preview. I then rendered for testing purposes an mpeg2 of that time line and the saved file played back perfectly. I would see no reason that I could not use that mpeg2 file to burn a dvd and have it play but have not taken it that far.
I just took and added a velocity envelope and slowed it waaaay down.
