    Something strange with Nucleo…

    Hi guys,

    I have recently upgraded to AFX 7.0.01 and bought Nucleo to help things along on the renders. Ive used it all week for the same project with no problems, but last night i left my computer rendering as usual only to find that i had no resultant file this morning. The latest Nucleo history entry is reads

    STATUS

    Error – (Comp name) – (Project Name) – Sunday, 7 Decemeber 1969 14:03 – 09:46

    Now im no time traveller – thats bonkers! All my previous renders are showing up right in the history (with the appropriate date)

    Does anyone have any ideas, or had a similar wierdness?

    G5 Quad core 2.5 GHz
    4GB RAM

    AFX 7.0.01
    Nucleo 1.0 (with patch update posted here the other day)
    OSX 10.4.8

    This is definitely strange. A couple of questions…

    Is it Nucleo or Nucleo Pro, and which version exactly?

    Did the clock of your system get set to 1969? There are issues with motherboard batteries dying and your clock getting set to some Apple engineers birthday (something like that…hence the Dec 7, 1969), but I don’t think this is the issue as the onboard battery usually lasts for years, and your machine isn’t that old.

    That said, Nucleo or Nucleo Pro should not “break” due to the system clock being messed up.

    If you are using the latest patch (the logs location changed between patches) – could I ask to zip up all the Nucleo logs and send them to support@gridironsoftware.com?

    They are found in (Your User Account)/Library/Preferences/GridIron/Nucleo

    This will give us a better clue as to what happened, and if Nucleo was the culprit.

    Thanks Steve – i have done that very thing.

    I am using Nucleo Pro Version 1.0.4.391

    I dont think my system clock reset itself (unless it had updated again by the time i got in this morning) although that was what we thought it was initially… and like you say, the computer is less than a year old.
