    Hi All,
I’m working on a project with an extremely high poly model(s).
I’m running into vram issues with octane and I’m looking for a clean way to manage things.

In a nutshell I need to stop things from being sent to the renderer if I know they are not in the view of the camera for this particular shot.
Right now I do it manually, but I’m looking for some way that I can sort of record the state of many objects render visibility.

Photoshop has the layer comps palette where you can turn on and off layers and then record that as a state.

    Any advice welcome.

You can do this either with the layer manager or the takes manager.

Thanks for the info. I haven’t had much luck with the layer manager by itself, maybe I need to learn the takes manger.
In the meantime I found this plugin from cineversity.

That’s pretty nifty, I hadn’t seen it before.

The Takes system is pretty powerful if you take the time to figure it out.
