OK, I rendered two videos using the exact .veg file

The first vid, I rendered in MPEG2 using the default setting (whatever that is) and the second in MPEG2 HD 720 30fps

In the video, I took a screenshot and used it to pause the scene for a few seconds.

The default MPEG2 version turned out fine and played exactly as it did in the preview, but the HD version shrunk the snapshot.

I uploaded both videos to YouTube to give you guys and idea what I’m talking about….

    MPEG2 Default version:

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n8TQ7vn4Jwg

    HD 720 version:

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oLUri8LOOxU

Skip to 1:05 on each video to see the difference.

I would like to start doing all my renderings in HD, but how do I set it to render exactly as shown in the preview so I don’t get anymore surprises like this?

    Rick

My guess is that you took the snapshot when you were in the SD mode.
Switch your Project Properties to the appropriate HD mode and try again.
BTW, if you’re using Vegas Pro, use the Velocity Envelope to stop (i.e. freeze) the video at the desired location for the desired amount of time and then resume again.
