Hi guys. I’ve just finished editing my final year student film and it’s due on Monday. The final shot is a POV of a man approaching a gravestone. I need the gravestone to have his name on it. But the guy who would have done it is AWOL. Will anyone take on the challenge to fix the shot?

    Thanks in advance.

Andrew, we’re less about giving a man a fish, and more about teaching him to fish.

If you’re interested in learning how to do this shot yourself (you’ve got time if it’s due next Monday), you’ve come to the right place, but more specifics about the shot will help.

Check out Ae CS6’s new 3D camera tracker [link] for a step in the right direction.

    Hi there.

Thanks for the response. I understand this is a place to learn, but my After Effects knowledge extends to import file and new composition.

I’ve tried mocha and followed a tutorial, but when I post the mocha text file into the image nothing happens other than it scales or to the first frame I set in mocha.

Can I maybe send you the clip and you suggest a way of achieving it?

If you can’t find who can help, i can give you a hand with that shot.. just upload the Footage and how you want it (Render Output format,What you want on the shot).

P.S. when you do Track on Mocha is better copy that Data to Clipboard and create a Null object and copy that Track Data there

    Hi There,

Thanks for all the advice and help.

I’ve sat for two days straight and the result is awful. I know it’s not the easiest shot to fix, but hopefully doable.

I’ll attach a low res version for you to check out. Then I’ll mail you or drop box you the full res version.

I need the bottom part of the gravestone, with the inscription “Born Simonstown…” to be removed and replaced with just the granite texture.

Then there are two options for the the top part that says “Hannah Ward”.

It can be replaced with with “James Smith” and where it says “Wardy” it needs to say “1980 – 2065”. And then when it cuts to the scissors cutting the thread it morphs or blurs fast into “1980 – 2012″. Otherwise just a straight cut to 1980 – 2012”.

Just wanted to know if you’ve managed to take a look at the footage?
