  • Some io firmware instability.

I’ve experienced some instability with the latest io firmware (22-27). Specifically FCP or the new control panel loosing contact with unit and requiring lots of restarts and power cycling to re-establish. Also the Firewire light would be on at all time, even when there was no Firewire cable connected. A downgrade to (21-26) has brought the previous stability back.

I’m sorry to hear that. The only problem I had was during an assemble edit to tape, it kept going to the wrong time code. Cueing the tape and marking in solved the problem. Have you notified AJA? Their response to support issues is probably one of the quickest I’ve ever encountered. It’s a good thing you can easily jump back to previous versions.

I can confirm the instability with 22-27 firmware on my system. Yesterday I had to cycle power 2 times on the IO due to the component outputs essentially shutting off. The S-VHS & composite outs worked and I didn’t check the SDI outs. One time was switching from FCP to Entourage and the second time was just while pausing during an edit.
I must say that before this I had 1 power cycle in two months.
Cheers to a great tool! I have been very happy with the IO.
