SOME footage squished on capture
Posted by Nicholas Johnson on April 26, 2011 at 9:08 pmHi there,
I’m fairly new to Premiere, but have used FCP for years so I know by basics.
I’m just having an odd problem during capture:
I’m capturing SD footage from a Canon GL2 and sometimes it will capture clips that are horizontally squished – about 5% or so I believe. Yet it will capture clips from the same TC, on the same tape, absolutely fine.
Any ideas to why this may happen?

April 28, 2011 at 1:14 pmHave you been filming Standard and Widescreen on the same tape.
Widescreen is anamorfic which means it will present itself in 4:3 vertical stretched in a Standard project. -

April 28, 2011 at 5:48 pmNope – have been shooting at 4:3 with this setup. It’s weird because it could be do it to one clip from the same interview and not another – it’s baffling me!
