The 50-50 is this. Click a piece of audio and then hit CMD-8. You’ll see the Audio Enhancement menu pop up on the upper right corner. The 50-50 is where I set the sliders in the compression, the very top one. I’m not in front of my X right now, so I can’t remember what they call it in there, but…
Click the audio again and hit CTRL-A, to bring up the audio animation “stuff.” In that animation, it is called Compressor — which by the way is Key Frame-able. Audio compression is not the same as file compression, fyi. Audio compression is a dynamic way to keep the sound level about the same level. There’s more powerful effect from Logic in the Audio Effects menu, but this one works very well, for me at least.
