  • [solved] Referencing layer hierarchy in expressions

    Hello all,

    Can anyone help me out with the following?

    Is is possible to arbitrarily reference a value from the layer above in the timeline?

    For example:

    Layer 01. Controller Null
    Layer 02. Solid

    01. Controller has a “Scale” expression slider
    02. Solid scale is linked to “Scale” slider of layer above

    This way I can simply duplicate them (a lot) and the expression will always reference the above controller?

    This would save me a LOT of time

    Thanks!!

    Hey all,

    I was just getting my syntax muddled while searching the forums.
    I have since found the answer-

    using the index + 1

    Thanks!

    index+1 will reference the layer below, index-1 will reference the layer above (layers are numbered top to bottom)
