Solution To Lost Audio In Premiere
Hey all,
I just wanted to give you a solution to your problem. I’ve had it happen on many occasions. What you need to do is go into your EDIT/PREFERENCES/MEDIA and check the location of your MEDIA CACHE FILES and MEDIA CACHE DATABASE.
If possible, set this to your root storage drive…in most cases D:/
When you lose your audio on certain clips, go to the Media Cache folders and delete the .mcdb, .cfa, and .pek files. The .pek files are generated in the conforming process. You can try just deleting certain file extensions, but if it’s a new project that you are working on, I tend to clear everything and let Premiere re-conform all of the video files.
I’m not sure what causes this, but I tend to notice it when I import files and immediately drop them into the preview monitor and start cutting…it might just be something within Premiere that is going wonky when I start doing too much before it has conformed all of the videos.
This has happened on both my PC and MAC.
I hope that helps for you.
