  Solution to drag & drop problem!

  This has been driving me crazy for some time now, and it seems I was not alone:

  Just to clarify, the problem many people have is that dragging and dropping inside AE suddenly stops working, and nothing helps except for closing and restarting the application, at which point it may work again for a few drags and drops – sometimes just one – and then it dies again. MAJOR, major pain.

  Well, a kind soul over at mograph.net found what seems to be the culprit – at least in his case, and mine, and a few other people: GenArts Sapphire. If you are among the lucky ones to own those plugins, MAKE SURE YOU HAVE VERSION 1.03 AND ABOVE. GenArts acknowledge that in versions prior to 1.03 there was a problem, something to do with hyperthreading, that interfered with dragging and dropping. See here:

  I was so, so happy to discover this, and so far it seems that updating to the latest version solves the problem (Yes, I know, I should have done this before. I get too many software update notices to remember to take care of them all 🙂 ). Hopefully this helps some other people out there.
