So…I need an uber shock mount
I went and picked up a used MKH816 (Sennheiser loooong gun) and while my 416 works in any shock mount that holds an ME66…the 816 just leaves all my shockmounts begging for mercy.
I’ve seen a couple Sennheiser blimps for this mic that have looked fairly beat go for a pretty fair price… I have a pretty beefy foam windscreen on it now that I could custom fit to a proper pistol grip that is up to the task…does anybody know who makes one like that these days?
Or…am I left with strictly buying a blimp with an extension in it?
(The 816 is very nearly 22″ long)
I also have an old ME88 (skinny capsule) that I’m seeking a foam windscreen that actually fits…if anyone has any ideas.

I’d check with Rycote or K-tek and see what they have for the 816.
