  Software to Create Melodies

  What entry-level software packages are there for someone who wants to:
  1. compose music
  2. Enhance it with percussion.
  3. Add other instruments to the basic tune that I created.
  I’m not a master music theory expert but have some music reading/writing skills.
  This would be for a Windows-based pc.
