Just updating the annual Company Insurance list, and it’s occurred to me that I insure all my software (more than $20,000 worth) at its full replacement cost. As the software is actually licensed, presuming everything is properly registered, am I correct in assuming that I could actually just get replacement discs for the software in the event of a fire/theft etc at some significantly lower fee? Will software manufacturers honour my licenses?

Does anybody have any experience with this? I’d appreciate your insight.

I don’t know for every manufacturer, but I once lost my After Effects disc and I paid about $50 to Adobe for replacing the disc(for a 1000 dollar software). Just make sure that you have the proper proof of purchase and that your software is registered.
