I use GPU-Z. It works great for me.

July 4, 2011 at 7:22 pmStrange thing. When previewing clips with BCC effects my GPU load shows 5%. When previewing clips without any effects/filters, GPU load reaches 8%.
Does it mean GPU is always used for playback in Vegas? Even if you don’t use BCC plugins?
I got 10c version.

July 6, 2011 at 9:05 pmHi,
I am alternatively using GPU-Z and EVGA Precision.
On my machine, the GPU-Z window sometimes mysteriously disappears, but the engine keeps running => I have to restart the program, and before, I have to kill the background process, which is quite borying.
For that reason I have switched to EVGA Precision (free tool as well)
Regarding the 8% vs 5% thing, it might be due to the fact that with effects running, the CPU and host memory becomes the bottleneck, causing the GPU to work less efficiently (having to wait for the CPU or the memory to be ready to pass it data).
Hope this helps,
Frederic—

Actually, it minimizes to the system tray which is somewhat hidden in Windows 7. Just go to the tray, right-click the icon and select Open GPU-Z and it will open again. 😉
