  • Software for animating a logo

    Hi…

I’m an editor using Premiere and FCP and I’ve been asked if I there is a program for animating a simple logo. Just like Winamp and Windows Media Player makes visualizaion of the music or a screensaver makes a picture/logo turn around and flow on the screen.

Is there a small (preferably free) program that can animate a simple JPEG/GIF/PNG (whatever) in this way? It has to work for Mac OSX and has to be independent of other programs (not a plugin for FCP or so).

Any help would be greatly appreciated 🙂

    Cheers,
    Toni

Can you post a visual of what you’re trying to achieve?

You may be able to do what you need directly in Premiere Pro or in FCP.

For more nuanced animations, you may need to move to either Adobe After Effects (which you may already have) or Apple Motion (which you almost certainly have, since you have FCP). You may be able to get a pre-made template for either of these packages that does what you need.

Thanks for the answer Walter. I know I can do it in my editing program, but my customer wants to be able to do it themselves.

So what they want is a small program where they can add a customers logo (picture file) and have the logo swirl around in the ceiling using a projector when the customer arrives. Something primitive as making the logo turn/rotate/flow on the screen.

So my question is: is there are any premade software that is able to do this simple animation just by adding a new picture each time?

    Thanks!

You can build a template in Motion and then give it to the client. All the client has to do it swap out the logo and export out the video. The new Motion 5 is only $50 at the app store. Best of luck.

If I understand you correctly, you’re going to want to look into v-jay software. Basically software that people use to add visualization at concerts/clubs, etc. You’ll be able to get it to react to music that’s playing too.

    Windows-based: Xara3d
Simple to learn and use. Hope it fits your client’s requirements.

Crystal 3DImpact Pro. PC based, really simple to create 2-d and 3-d animation, nice render quality. No keyframing, it’s based on canned moves. Old, but still effective.

More modern, more powerful, but still has canned moves to make it easy to get good results fast: Zaxwerks.
