  • Software and Settings for Batch Converting Still Image Files?

    HI Guys,

I am hoping this is a simple question:

I have a large selection of huge resolution files, 200 MB files, 300 DPI x 20 inches. I need them converted for use in Final Cut 7.

    1) Can you suggest a batch conversion software? hopefully free but I’m okay to spend a little. Hoping to avoid buying photoshop.

And 2) what is a good final image size that still has enough resolution to zoom into the image but would not jam up Final Cut with huge render times or out of memory warnings?

    I was going to do 1920 x 1080 at 144 dpi.

My system is a MacPro 3,1 With Mountain Lion, 2x 2.8 Quad-Core, 14GB Ram and Running Final Cut 7.

    Thank you in advance,
    Oscar

Photoshop. Google “recording your own batch actions in Photoshop”. Very easy and powerful.

Photoshop would be preferable, but if you don’t want to spend the bucks, Preview will do batch resize. If you use it, duplicate your originals before you resize.
