Hi… I am working with video originally shot dark in a club. Ligting was NOT an option! 😉 The image IS there but it’s too dark for my liking. I’ve been able to boost the colors and brightened the video and it looks MUCH better… client is very happy but I wanted to know if there is another effect that someone can suggest that would allow me to soften but not loose sharpness of image whereby it adds a richness to the video and kinda smooths out what looks like a somewhat pixelated video from having brightened it? Any suggestions from you Final Cut Pro effects artists!? Thank you MUCH in advance!!! ~Rowland

    Hi
I’ve used the Noise Reduction and Smart Noise Reduction plug-ins from Too Much Too Soon – they work quite well, but don’t expect too much (too soon… ;-):

you haven’t mention the kind of footage you are dealing with, but you may try the Nattress Chroma Smooth/Sharpening. Apply it and set your sequence to 8/10b Unc or Proress.
