soft landing
Posted by Dean Steinmann on September 25, 2007 at 11:45 pmUsing key frames under the motion tab, what is the best way to create a “soft landing” when zooming into a photo?
Thanks,
Dean

September 26, 2007 at 12:08 amIn the canva, Control click on the ending ketframe and set it to Ease in/ Ease Out.
Then adjust the Bezier handles to get the motion you want.

Yeah, good luck with that. This functionality blows in FCP. Seriously.
In my less frustrating opinion, it’s best to bounce out to Motion or AE.

September 26, 2007 at 12:29 pmWithout Automatic Duck, I’m heading for Motion. You have to do a few more clicks to get both scale and position to ease, but it’s a lot more workable than FCP’s keyframes. Since I’m putting a Motion project in the timeline, rather than a rendered movie, it works fine when the sequence compression is changed–just re-render. AE seems to scale objects more cleanly, though.

September 26, 2007 at 2:44 pmEase in/out is THE worst shortcoming in FCP. Totally touch and go. I agree with Shane, use AE.
Have a wonderful day.
