I have Premiere Pro with a Matrox RTX100 card.
It has a great soft focus filter, and I’d love to be able to replicate the look when using Premiere without the matrox card. (such as on a laptop)

Anyone know a way of doing a good soft focus look with just he Premiere filters?

Why don’t you SHOOT it, keeps you from the hassle of trying it in post?

Try all the different Native PPro Blur filters.

I was able to get a decent look using the blur and CC Composite (using the screen transfer mode). It’s just much more time consuming to do it.

Here’s a little photoshop trick that also works well in Premiere Pro. Copy and paste a duplicate video clip onto video track 2 or any layer above the original clip. Use the
gaussian blur filter over your duplicate clip. Set it at about
25%. Then, cut the opacity of the duplicate clip back to about 50%. By varying the amount of blur and/or opacity, you can control the amount of soft focus. Looks and works great! Just be ready for long renders. Set it and forget it. lol

    Happy editing!
