Soft edge mask
I want to know how to add a soft edge to a mask ? Is this only possible by making a matte myself and applying, because there dosn’t seem to be too many options in garbage mask ?

I use the garbage matte by moving it to a new sequence, lightening it up with the levels effect, putting it over a black matte, and using the sequence as a track matte nested in the original sequence. Blur the clip with the garbage matte and it will make a soft edge.
