I’m trying to create an effect where a piece of fabric falls down over a frame with the top edge pinned to the frame.

Maybe a different description would help:

picture a wooden frame made up of 4 pieces of wood in a square. Now I want to have a piece of fabric fall down but when it falls, it catches on the top and then the fabric falls down in front of the frame.

    — or perhaps this —

What I’m really trying to illustrate is an empty square frame and then wrapping a blank artist’s canvas around the frame so I end up with a blank artist’s canvas. It’s for a title sequence so I can be forgiving with the laws of gravity and physics.

I’m somewhat of a novice but I know some dynamics and softbody tags and stuff like that. Don’t have much experience with anything cloth.

    Thanks!

I figured out how to pin the plane with a cloth tag but when it falls, it passes right through the frame and keeps on swinging.

You have to apply cloth collider tags to the frame.

another possibility is to check out the belt tag (you’re still going to want the collider tag)

    Howdy,

You can animate the Influence parameter of the Belt tag to get the result you want.

That’s what I did for the pyramid object in this example:
