Since upgrading to R9, Cinema is now running very, very slowly. I’m running it on a Compaq N800w with a ATI Mobility Radeon 9000 and I’m using XP Pro with nothing else running. I’ve also updated to 9.1. The puzzling thing is R8 worked fine. Any tips?

    Thanks

    Hello,
by “slow” you mean editor speed or render speed? I guess it’s the editor speed. V9 comes with a lot of eye candy activated by default. Deactivate the wireframe overlay while in Quickshading or Gouraud shading mode as a starting point. It depends on the features of your graphics cards if all of the new layer effects are supported. Take a look at the OpenGL setting and deactivate everything. If it is getting faster in the editor now, switch features on again, one by one and see, what feature is costing the extra redraw time.

    Kind regards,
