Just yet another beef that I have with FCP….

If you create or have some create an image in Photoshop in HD 1920×1080 and then drop that file into FCP that someone is editing in DVCPro HD 1080i29.97, that Photoshop will not import properly. Even after having to adjust with the distort tab which still doesn’t work properly enough.

I have to go back into Photoshop and create a new file using DVCProHD image properties and drop that in the timeline.

I am using FCP 7.01 on MacOS 10.5.8. This is a real pain!

Well, it sounds like you answered your own question, so thanks for the info. I’m sure it will help others.

If I remember correctly DVCPRO HD is not 1920×1080, but 1440×1080.

    All the best,

It’s been that way since the beginning. We always switch our Photoshop files before they go into a DVCPro HD, XDCAM or other anamorphic format.

You should just create an automatic script in Photoshop like I’ve done.

    Indeed. It’s 1440×1080 at 25fps, and 1280×1080 at 29.97fps.

    …and of course, it’s 960×720 at 720p.
