You think we will ever see a windows version of FCP? I wonder if they might go that direction to steal some PC editors…..

I think they will stick with FCP on Macs. This way they ensure that people will only use Macs to run FCP. Getting the Macs to use Windows software will get the PC people to buy that Mac, and then use FCP on it.

But with FCP running on that intel using the Dual Binary…I have no doubt that someone will try to hack it to work on a PC. And I bet it won’t work well, and someone will complain that it doesn’t.

Making Macs boot WIndows natively is meant to get more PC people to buy Macs….I think it will work. Why didn’t I buy more stock last week when it was sub-$60? GAH!

not to mention the countless posts that will occur wondering why fcp isn’t stable on their fry’s pc tower w/ diy video card, ram, hard drive…etc…etc..

It is interesting that when Macromedia had FCP it ran on Windows. In a strange way we have almost come full circle.

Getting the Macs to use Windows software will get the PC people to buy that Mac, and then use FCP on it.< And yet, who would have thought that Apple, if anyone, would release BootCamp so soon. And as a FREE download? Speculating on Apple's business models and software/hardware plans is great fun but a complete waste of time. Whatever Apple is these days, it's all about interesting surprises. bogiesan This is my standard sigfile so do not take it personally: “For crying out loud, read the freakin’ manual.”

And on top of that, Apple’s stock rose like scum on boiled milk based on nothing more than the announcement of FREE software to boot Windows.

We mistakenly assume Steve Jobs has the same irrational passion for Macintosh that we do.
    He does not.
Steve Jobs is all about Apple making money. If Apple can make huge money porting Apple’s professional applications to XP, Jobs will do it. Period.
