So Mac OS 10.9.4 was released this morning. Does anyone know if it fixes what 10.9.3 did to the GPUs in the new mac pros? I convinced my place of employment to spring for a bunch of these new mac pros and turns out we couldn’t use Premiere or Davinci resolve! Holy crap its been a frustrating couple of weeks. Hopefully now its fixed. Anyone have a report?

So far, it looks like yes. I still get some stuttering from a complex lumetri effect on my d500’s but it works.

Don’t forget to Time Machine. You never know what 10.9.5 will bring when it comes and I have a feeling this is going to be a reoccurring theme with how Open CL is getting updated by Apple and how little communication takes place to Apple’s partners before the release.

So far so good with me. No problems using GPU acceleration with Premiere and Adobe Media Encoder.

Still having stuttering issues with with OSX 10.9.4 and Premiere Pro CC 2014 on my latest gen Mac Pro desktop running D300’s. Switching to software only mode resolved the stuttering. I fear we’re not completely out of the woods yet and people on the Adobe forums fired up the ticker tape parades too early.

Blogs posts like this should wait a few more days before giving everyone a false sense of security in the recently released updates.

Go check on the threads and everyone is crawling back a few days later still having issues. Some resolved, but a boat load still yet unresolved.

Suffice to say, I’ll be rolling back to 7.2.2 until Pro CC 2014 has had more time to mature. It is far from ready for primetime IMO

The Dynamic Linking feature is completely SNAFU’ed. It has cost me tons of time over the last two weeks.

    Kind regards,
