    Hey Fellas,

Read several of your tips…and its been helpful thx.

Did an upgrade install (not clean) on a Mac Tower 2x 3 GHz Dula -Core Intel Xeon / Memory 2 GB 667 Mhz DDR2 FB – DIMM built from Promax a while back. Couple of days ago, when I imported a different resolution into my FCP timeline the FCP crashed out to a restart after about two days of editorial.

I then read your tips and Installed Snow Leopard and FCP after erasing the drives for a clean install. Worked out the esata driver issue for the CalLogit board and all seemed functional. Went to repair permissions just in case.

Opened up FCP and clicked on timeline to play a clip and it crashes out to request to start up.

Any thoughts? Should I wipe clean for the second time and re-install the four hours worth of discs? Ugh. Or should I just go buy Leopard instead and lose the two days of edit time on the snow leopard (non clean install)?

    Thanks for rescuing.

May have fixed issues. Noticed that there were H.264 elements in project and I deleted them all out…so far so good….and I don’t have to scrap anything….

Have you run the Apple software update 58 thousand times in order to update both the OS and FCS to the point at which you get the software up to date message?

It really is best to do a full clean install on a new drive to ensure optimum performance.

This way you also have your old drive that can be re-installed if your new install encounters problems. In fact with a Mac Tower you could install this drive in another bay in the computer and select it as the boot drive in system preferences.
