No, it is statements like this that create less waste and needless spending. Using older machines instead of trashing them and going for the new one. Saving your money on unneeded upgrades and spending it elsewhere, and on more pressing things, like vacations. It is far better to make use of what you have if it still does what you need. Needless spending is stupid economics…unfortunately the economics that many Americans and especially politicians and bureaucrats practice.

Not all progress is needed…we don’t always need to expand and get bigger and faster.

But now I wax philosophical. And I am a hypocrite as I got the new iPhone 3G(S) even though my old iPhone is working fine. I am giving that to my wife, but she didn’t really ask for it…nor did she really request it. So take my above statement with a grain of salt. But I did make due with my G5 for 4 years, and only upgraded because I needed an Intel to continue my work.
