[Michael Gissing] “This feature has been touted for the past six months. There was a sneak peek half a year ago then this second peek. Audio facilities that specialise in ADR have a whole heap of equipment including software to record and fit ADR.”

Never heard of it, but I haven’t been watching CS particularly. Historically, I upgrade every other iteration anyway.

[Michael Gissing] “Editors should not be expecting to do this, so software to do this will have some but not a lot of usage. “

Possibly. But we preditors tend to be jack-of-all-trades. I mean an editor shouldn’t be producing, writing copy, mixing and occasionally scoring either, but I wouldn’t be having half as much fun if I weren’t.

Sorry. Here’s part two. I accidentally published when I meant to quote. Like I say, I haven’t been following so it was new to me. And its not a big deal, but there are tim, when I’m building something in conjunction

    More perpective-

We have talked about this before, but I know my clients have a lower and lower tolerance for seeing traditional “rough cuts”. They want the first cut to be as tight as possible, almost to the point of looking and sounding relatively “Finished”, for better or for worse, but it is a current reality. A tool like this will help us achieve that almost finished look before going in and doing the real finishing.

Like anything else, it’s just a tool. You can use it, or not, especially if it works well for you and your particular needs. I can see this being great for VO work as well, not just ADR.
