  • Snapshot image location?

    Hello everyone,
One question, I wonder where the image taken when you click the snapshot button to take a snapshot of the screen in an After effects CS5 project screen goes; ie where is the image from the snapshot stored in?

Snapshots aren’t stored anywhere that you could get them, actually. This page [link] has all the info on snapshots. Make sure you also read the comments at the bottom for multiple suggestions on how to get a snapshot stored somewhere.

Yeah, that link to helpx.adobe.com is about as useful as udders on a bull.

The snapshot button is just to compare 2 frames. You can’t save the snapshot – which you should be able to do. If you want to save a frame: It’s composition>save frame as>file

It was very useful four years ago, but Adobe’s rewritten it since then.

The new link should be this one [link], but it still doesn’t cover how to save a still image…which is annoying.

This is exactly what I was looking for. More steps than premiere, but does the job.
    Thanks.

I went all over resetting my password, reactivating my account and all to reply to this comment.

Not only cause made me laugh real hard, but additionally solve the question on how to save the snapshop easily.

This is my sign of gratitude.

If you would like an infinitely better snapshot solution, check out FX Console from Video Copilot. It is free and besides having a much better snapshot solution, it also has a really nice workflow boost when adding effects or animation presets.
