    Greetings,
I’m playing around with the Vegas 8 trial software and I can’t seem to get clips in the timeline to snap to event media markers. I’m using a NTSC DV (720×480, 29.970 fps) template with avchd MTS files from a Canon HF100. After I add event media markers to a clip in the trimmer I can see the markers on the clip in the timeline but none of the other clips will snap to the markers within the clip itself. The other clips will snap to markers on the timeline, the edge of clips, etc, but not to the event media markers inside a clip. I’ve tried turning on and off every combination of snapping features (i.e. quantize to frames, snap to markers, snap to grid, snap to all events) but nothing seems to work. Is this the way that it is supposed to work?
I realize that I can “promote” the media markers to the timeline but after reading the help files I was under the impression that this would not be necessary especially since the promoted markers don’t move with the media.

    Please advise. Thank you.

    little, yellow, different,
    zac

    Hmmm…
Place the cursor (playhead) on the marker you want to snap to, then drag the other event.
It will snap to the cursor, thus to the marker.

Just an idea from a user of the outdated Vegas 6 ;))

Vegas does not snap to embedded media markers. You’ll need to place your cursor over the marker as was suggested and have the events snap to the cursor.
