    Hi,
I am muddling my way through my first project on 5.1 Universal on a MacBookPro, (old user, new version FCP & MacBookPro).

Several Snags, please advise where possible.

    1. Cannot get the canvas window to display 4:3, anamorphic only, no matter how I set preferences and video.
    2. Powered ahead anyway, now I export FCP project to QT Movie and cannot get it to burn on DVD. I keep getting error messages, as unsupported format, or missing file. Have tried to use iDVD and DVDPro, same problems.
    3. Also trying to utilize the connection between FCP and SoundTrack Pro and cannot get the File/Send To/Soundtrack Pro Project File to highlight so that it can be selected. Thus no easy back forth edit between FCP and Soundtrack.

Thanks in advance, I hope these questions are easy!

OK, quick response to your first issue: the canvas should show whatever your sequence is set to. With either the Canvas (command-2) or the Timeline (command-3) selected, hit command-0 to bring up the sequence settings. Set the checkbox to anamorphic. Also, look in the drop-down mini-menus at the top of the canvas window to select “correct for aspect ratio”. You should be seeing anamorphic.

changing this setting only affects new sequences, not current ones.
Also sometimes I’ve found that despite changing the capture setting it’s still flagging 4:3 as anamorphic. If so you have to put the browser in list view, find the anamorphic column and uncheck all the relevant items.

Thank you for your replies. They have been real life savers.
Do you think the above issues are why I’m getting errors when I try to burn a DVD in iDVD?
    Thanks again.
