I need to smooth out some zoom shots. They’ve got a series of slow and subtle jerks. I was using the manual zoom and wasn’t as deft as I thought I was being. Any suggestions would be much appreciated. Thanks!

Ha! I like your directness. There’s a third option I might go for: live with it! It is pretty subtle. Thanks much–your input is appreciated.

virtualdub with deshaker 2.2 for zooms, tilts etc. is free and just as good as monet.

another trick is smooth out the pan by sub sampling out the jerkyness. use twixtor to slow down 80% then take that comp and put it in a new comp with timestretch 80%, a right click. It will have exact same speed but way less noticable jerks in motion. It’s also a great way to turn 29p into 24p.

    Thanks, Chris! I’ll try it.
