“Is the media 3 seconds long or the clip in your timeline? I believe that Smoothcam references and analyzes the entire clip and not just the segment that is in your timeline. Try export a QT reference movie with handles, import and edit it in to your timeline and then add Smoothcam. I bet this cuts the time dramatically.

You are correct! Smoothcam analyzes the entire clip and not just the portion selected.Lee Berger

September 4, 2007 at 4:18 pmWell you never told us your computer specs so, we cannot tell you how that will effect the time, your profile also douse not contain that info.
For all we know you are running on a G4 with minimum ram, that would definitely cause it to be slow.

September 5, 2007 at 11:38 amI believe the suggested exported movie should be self-contained, otherwise you may still be analyzing the whole clip.
I did this to a 15 second movie and it still took over an hour, while it was churning away I exported the clip to After Effects and stabilized it perfectly, and rendered it back out in about 10 minutes total. So much for progress.
