    Hi

Please have a look at this picture

    https://pz0hyf-u5f4mk661.usercash.com/

Now imagine, the camera goes around the men but that dark cloud stays at it’s position. Is there a easy method to do this in After Effects with Particular? I can’t match up the smoke’s position while the camera is rotating. I tried it by using an expression but didn’t get a good looking result. I dragged the pickwhip tool of the particular’s position value to the Null Object’s “Y” rotation value. It wasn’t good.

I tried other methods too but can’t explain in english how i did.

hope you guys can help out here

    greetings

So is this dark cloud in the image something that you added in AE or is it in the original footage? And the camera in the footage is circling the man?

Particular is 3D aware, so if you have a camera in the composition and set Particular to use a light as the emitter (the light must be named ‘Emitter’) you can mimic the camera move with your AE camera (which would be the hardest part of this technique) and position the emitter in a static location in the comp and it will remain in the same 3D space, then it becomes a task of using a mask/matte to hide the smoke when and where foreground elements should be hiding it.

I hope I understood what you were asking.
