Hi again, I’d like to create smoke like cigarette’s, emitting from a specific object’s surface. I think it’s the same when steam comes from the lake’s surface. But I cannot make smoke with the pyrocluster, which is similar to cigarettes, long with turbulance. And I cannot make particles emitting from a surface. Is it possible to make ?

I believe Cinema comes with a TP preset for emitting particles from a surface.

Regarding that kind of smoke, it’s actually a very had thing to achieve convincingly in 3D. Ultimately it requires fluid simulation, which isn’t available in Cinema and, in any case, is very cpu intensive.

The best results I’ve seen used animated geometry with fresnel in the transparency channel.

Thank you, anyway, I try to achieve at least something similar to things I have in my mind.
If there’s a way to export/import the whole scene to max/maya and if those have the capabilities for this type of animation, would it be a solution ? I mean, is this possible ? This should be just a few (around 10) second long piece of the whole animation. (sorry, if i express myself in a complicated way)

    Hi Sam,

fluid simulation of gases can be found very soon in DPIT Nature Spirit V4 for Cinema 4D.
Find more information regarding this here:

What about Realflow? They have a import/export plugin for C4d.

Ok, This worked for me with TP. You will need to adjust the light to get the look you are after.

Oh, that’s great. Thanks. I’m fine tune then.
