    Hi,
I am looking for an effect to smash a sequence or picture into pieces like smashing a window.. Do I have to use particle systems to do that ?

I find it quite hard to adjust so many parameters …I need just simple explosion to pieces falling on the ground.. Can you please just tell me on which parameters should I focus ?

Basically, try reducing the force 1>strength, changing the shape>pattern to “glass” and increasing physics>gravity.

If you want to know more, check out this Shatter tutorial by Ben Unguren on the COW.

Nope, you don’t have to set keyframes — it’s self-animating. Just try applying it to your video layer, then do a RAM preview as it is. Next, change the settings as I described to make it more like what you want.

Only go to the tutorial once you get the basic shattering happening.

In the view parameter select Rendered, and you should see the results. The Default is wireframe+forces, thats why you can’t see anything.
