SmallTree rocks. That’s high praise coming from someone who has been purchasing computer based production gear for going on 3 decades.

We had an integrator build a NAS last year and it worked for awhile. Until it didn’t. Getting a diagnosis was a gut wrenching exercise and 3 techs could not get to the root of the issue. Then it just plain failed and we were in deep doodoo (technical term).

I did some research and was pretty much dissuaded from another NAS solution. Then I was directed to SmallTree.

After much discussion we decided to purchase a 32TB GraniteSTOR from SmallTree. I can categorically say that, not only is this one of the best technology decisions I have ever made, but that SmallTree is the best technology provider I have ever dealt with. From inception, to delivery to implementation to testing, the SmallTree team blew me away. Then there is the product. Best of breed does not describe it. How about this: 28 streams of Pro Res 422HQ with no dropped frames, no flow control, no issues. All over single drop CAT6 1GBe connections.

    Like I said, SmallTree rocks.

I’d like to second Pat’s comments.

We have set up a 32tb RAID with another 32tb to be added shortly with 7 FCP systems and soon to add a couple of PC’s to the mix.
We’re working primarily with XDcam footage.

We’ve been integrating into a large established organization and have been helping the IT network specialists understand how this new (to them) technology works and Small Tree have been incredibly helpful in figuring out how we can fit into their environment.

    Kudos.
