Slugs Or Spaces in EDL

you can view the EDL using Apple TextEdit.

February 2, 2009 at 6:43 pmThanks….I will try. The the EDL is for a future film shot on HD CAM originally, DV offline is almost done in FCP and will be onlining in Avid DS nitris. And I got lots of speed changes. God help me.

February 2, 2009 at 8:09 pmEDL’s are a nightmare. Its 30+ year old technology trying to interpret what you are doing in FCP. You are asking for trouble… especially if it requires more than one video track or speed changes.
If you care about your film, you should purchase Automatic Duck for this…or find a post house that has it and can do the conversion from FCP to Avid for you. Its the only real way to do this.

March 2, 2009 at 10:10 pmFinished on-lining in Avid DS Nitris….I exported CMX 3600 EDL from FCP…speed changes are successfully recognized by DS Nitris. There were minor time-code issues on speed changes, which were solved by very simple trimming. Thanks all…
