  • Slugs covering clip in timeline?

Posted by Stephen N. on August 7, 2012 at 4:13 pm

    Hey all,
Probably an easy solution, but I can’t find one. Why for some clips, my storyline appears to be “slugged” in the timeline, but actually shows video in the viewer. There ARE supposed to be clips in the timeline but it is covered by a slug. I can not right click or anything over the black area. What do I do if I want to modify this clip? See picture below.

Any storyline can have a gap including secondaries. The video looks like it’s from the video that’s under your skimmer, not the gap.

Do you need video in the primary or secondary gap? If you want space in your primary, you have to have a gap clip.

I need video in the secondary. Here is a different screenshot. Both skimmer and playhead are parked over it, indicating there is indeed video there, but why can’t I see it in the timeline?

Can you delete the gap clip in the secondary?

If not< I would copy/paste the contents of the secondary and make a new one. It looks like some sort of screendrawing error.

Indeed that is a redraw error. Zoom in and out on the timeline and it should clear up.
